【Family①】My Grandfather Passed Away...

On 22 July 2021, my maternal grandfather passed away at the age of seventy-eight. I was told that when he had not woken up in the morning, his wife had checked on him and found him stiff in the futon. The cause of death was heatstroke. He slept without an air conditioner or a fan, only with the windows open. I heard this news at noon that day. It was a very hot summer's day, with a cloudless blue sky.

I have been brought up by my maternal grandparents. Until the third year of secondary school, I had commuted from home to school via my maternal grandparents' house. I can't thank my grandfather enough for helping me get to school every morning for fifteen years. Also, my paternal grandfather passed away when I was very young, so I think I learned from my maternal grandfather what my paternal grandfather could not teach me. I'll never forget the times when he used to accompany me to baseball practice.

On 25 March 2013, after graduating from secondary school, at my maternal grandparents' house, where I spent fifteen years; in the centre is my maternal grandparents' Pomeranian, Mook, now fourteen years old.

I regret that I have not been able to repay him for all his help and support. I am sure that he will be watching over me from heaven. I am determined to do my best so that I can show him my success.
