【KUSPH②】Moved to Kyoto for 'Second' Postgraduate Life
On 23 March 2022, I moved to Kyoto for my 'second' postgraduate life. Looking back, I remember that at this time a year ago, I moved to Tokyo with great enthusiasm to go on to postgraduate school. However, things did not go well, and I had to take a year off from school. This time, I must not repeat the same experience. I went to Kyoto with high hopes for postgraduate life, but on the other hand with a calm mind.
In front of the postgraduate school to which I am belonging for the next two years.
Kyoto is the birthplace of weather commentator Takehisa YAMAGUCHI, a meteorologist who appears on Weathernews LiVE. I started watching Weathernews LiVE after I began studying for the meteorologist exam. The dialogue between Yamaguchi and the weathercasters is interesting, but his commentary on weather and earthquakes is truly professional. The recent earthquake off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, with a magnitude of 7.4 and a maximum intensity of 6+, occurred at 11:36 pm on 16 March. I was impressed with his calm commentary after the earthquake. Furthermore, at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and the Kumamoto Earthquake in 2016, he rushed to the studio immediately and provided commentary based on past cases. I need to work as a clinical biostatistician in two years. I will devote myself to becoming an expert like Yamaguchi.
